In many puzzle books, the grids are small and the letters crowded together. You lose your place, tire quickly, and a relaxing moment turns into a chore.

One big grid per page, in large letters

Each puzzle fills a whole page: 13 × 13 squares of 1.2 cm (½ in), 23 pt letters, crisp black on white. Below the grid, the 15 words to find are printed large, each with a box to tick. Words run left to right, downwards or diagonally, never backwards.

Questions

Is the PDF A4 or US Letter?

Neither exactly: the pages are 21 × 27.9 cm (8.25 × 11 in), as wide as A4 and as tall as US Letter. They print on either: choose “Actual size” or “Fit to page” in the print window. The grids stay well clear of the edges, so nothing gets cut off.

How do I print it at home?

With an ordinary printer and plain paper. The pages are black and white, so no colour ink is needed. Print the whole book, a few puzzles or a single theme, single- or double-sided.

How do I receive the book?

Right after payment, you receive an email with a link to download the PDF. It’s a digital file: no printed book is sent by post.

Is it a translation of a French book?

It is the English edition of “Mots mêlés de Noël en gros caractères”, Zé’s large print Christmas word search book for French readers. A word search can’t be translated letter by letter, so all 64 puzzles were made afresh in English, with themes and words for an English-speaking Christmas (mince pies, crackers, carol singers, the panto…), in the same layout: one big grid per page, 15 words, solutions at the back. The PDF opens with the colour cover, then a licence page: personal and family use, print as often as you need, no sharing of the file.

Can I print the puzzles again?

Yes, for personal use: reprint a puzzle to play it again, or the whole book for someone else at home.

Are the puzzles hard?

The level is easy. Each puzzle hides 15 words, which run left to right, downwards or diagonally (down or up), never backwards. The word list is printed just below the grid.
