Large print word search books to print

Large print word searches for anyone who would rather not squint: one big grid per page, bold capital letters and 15 words to find, in PDF books you print at home. Every page is black and white, so any printer and ordinary paper will do.

All three books share the same easy format. Each 13 × 13 grid fills the page, with squares of about 1.2 cm (½ in), and the 15 words are listed underneath, each with a box to tick. Words run left to right, downwards or diagonally (down or up), never backwards, and words with several parts are joined up, so ice cream becomes ICECREAM. A How to Play page opens each book and the solutions close it, two puzzles per page with every word circled. Volume 1 holds 90 puzzles with a British flavour (Cities of Britain, Bonnie Scotland, Afternoon Tea, Puddings, Down the Pub), plus a few for American readers such as American States and The Wild West.

Volume 2 brings 90 new puzzles in bold 23 pt capitals over 140 pages, with the solutions on pages 96 to 140: In Cornwall, The Swinging Sixties, The Corner Shop, Coffee Morning, At the Pictures, Bonfire Night, World Cities and many more. The large print Christmas word search has 64 puzzles over 100 pages, from Advent to Pancake Day: Stir-up Sunday, Mince Pies, Panto Time, Boxing Day Buffet, New Year's Eve, Twelfth Night. Printed and given with a good pencil, it makes an easy Christmas present for a grandparent.

Questions

Which book should I start with?

Volume 1 if you want everyday themes with a British flavour, or the Christmas book if it's for December and the weeks after. All three have the same easy level, so you can start anywhere: volume 2 simply carries on with 90 more themes.

I have volume 1. Are the puzzles in volume 2 new?

Yes. All 90 puzzles in volume 2 are new, with a fresh set of themes, from In Cornwall to World Cities.

Is the Christmas book only for December?

No. Its 64 themes run from Advent through Christmas and New Year to Twelfth Night and Pancake Day, so it lasts well into the new year.

How easy are the puzzles?

Easy. Each grid has 15 words on an everyday theme. Words run left to right, downwards or diagonally (down or up), never backwards, and there are no spaces or hyphens to trip you up.

Will they print on A4 paper?

Yes. Volume 1 is US Letter (8.5 × 11 in): on A4, choose Fit to page and the page shrinks by about 3%. Volume 2 and the Christmas book are 21 × 27.9 cm (8.25 × 11 in) and print at actual size on A4 or US Letter.

Are the answers included?

Yes. The solutions are at the back of every book, two puzzles per page, and each puzzle tells you which page its solution is on.

Is it a printed book? Can I print a grid again?

No book is posted: after payment you receive an email with a link to download the PDF. You can then print the whole book or a few puzzles at a time, and reprint a grid for yourself or someone else at home. The file itself must not be shared.
