Cramped grids, tiny letters

In many puzzle books, the grids are cramped and the letters are small. You squint, you hold the page closer, you end up hunting for letters rather than words. And the fun slips away.

Large print word searches, one big grid per page

Each page has a single 13 × 13 grid with squares of about 1.2 cm (½ in) and big, black, bold capital letters. Below the grid, the 15 words to find are in large print too, each with a box to tick. Words run left to right, downwards or diagonally, never backwards. If a word won’t show itself, the page of the solution is given at the bottom of the puzzle.

Questions

Is the PDF A4 or US Letter?

The pages are US Letter size (21.6 × 27.9 cm, 8.5 × 11 in). They also print very well on A4 paper: choose “Fit to page” in the print window. The page shrinks by barely 3% and the letters stay large.

How do I print it at home?

With an ordinary printer and plain paper. Every page is black and white, so no colour ink is needed. Print the whole book or just a few puzzles, plus the solution pages if you want them to hand (pages 96 to 140 of the book, 98 to 142 of the PDF).

How do I receive the book?

Right after payment, you receive an email with a link to download the PDF. It’s a digital file: no printed book is sent by post.

Is it a translation of a French book?

It is the English edition of “Mots mêlés en gros caractères”, Zé’s large print word search book for French readers. A word search can’t be translated letter by letter, so all 90 puzzles were made afresh in English, with themes and words chosen for English speakers, in the same layout: one big grid per page, 15 words, solutions at the back. The PDF opens with the colour cover, then a licence page: personal and family use, print as often as you need, no sharing of the file.
