A season flies by, and so do the memories
There's a match almost every weekend. A few weeks later, nobody remembers what worked or what the coach said. By the end of the season, it's hard to say what has really improved.
A journal to prepare, record and review
Before the season, the player sets 5 targets and rates their own level. Before each match, they write a game plan. Afterwards, they log their stats and look back at their decisions. After each training session, they note what they learnt. At the end comes a full season review, with their coach's view.
What's inside
Everything laid out, page by page
Before the match: position, tactical job, personal target. After it: score, minutes played, goals, assists, duels won, ratings from 1 to 10, then what went well and what to work on.
Training counts too
15 session pages: theme, duration, how hard it felt, drills to remember and, above all, how to use it in a match.
A proper end-of-season review
The season in numbers, progress in 6 areas (technique, tactics, physical, mental, discipline, communication) and a page for the coach's review.

Questions
How do I get the journal?
Straight after payment, you receive an email with a download link. Nothing is sent by post: it's a PDF file you print yourself.
What size are the pages? Can I print on A4?
The 120 pages of the book are US Letter (21.6 × 27.9 cm), the size of the original paperback. On A4 paper, choose "Fit to page" in the print window: the page is reduced very slightly.
Do I need a colour printer?
No. The inside pages are mostly black and grey with a few green lines, so a black-and-white printer is fine. The cover, the title page and the last page have large dark areas that use more ink.
Is it a translation?
Yes. It's the English edition of "Mon journal de saison foot" by Zé (Éditions Zé), adapted for players in the UK, with the football words they use: fixtures, full-back, formation, clean sheets. Same 120 pages, same layout. The PDF opens with the colour cover, then a licence page: personal and family use, print as often as you need, no sharing of the file.
Can I print pages again?
Yes, for family use. If the season has more than 25 matches, print extra match pages. You can also print a fresh journal for next season or for a brother or sister.
Who is it for?
Boys and girls aged 13 to 17, so roughly U14 to U18, in any position: the stats page even has a box for goalkeeper saves. The journal speaks directly to the young player.
