With 5 and 6-year-olds, one game too long and you lose them
You coach the youngest players at the club, often as a volunteer or a parent. At this age attention spans are short, everyone wants their own ball and one instruction too many is enough to lose the group. You need simple games that fit your space and your numbers, and nothing forgotten on match day.
Short games, told as a story
The notebook gives you 38 games, from warm-ups to small-sided matches. Each page has the story to tell the children, the time, the number of children, the area, the equipment and a diagram seen from above. Then you plan your sessions on the session plans, note who plays on the match-day sheets and tick off attendance.
What's inside
A story to start every game
“The magic goal is hiding…”: every page gives you a line to tell the children, then numbered steps that match the diagram.
Games that are easy to adjust
Every game has an easier and a harder variation, with 3 coaching points. One page explains the 4 things you can change: area, group, time and story.
Sessions of about an hour
One page shows the outline of a session: welcome, warm-up game, two games, mini-match, cool-down. Three sample sessions and an idea for the season are included.
Match days prepared, everyone plays
A checklist for before, during and after match day, then 16 sheets to note who plays each round, who goes in goal and what went well.

Questions
How do I receive the notebook?
Right after payment, you get a link to download the PDF. Nothing is sent by post: you print it yourself.
What size is it? Can I print it on A4?
The pages are 21 × 27.9 cm (8.25 × 11 in), the size of the original paperback. They fit on an A4 or US Letter sheet without shrinking: choose “Actual size” (100%). Text and tables stay at least 1.5 cm from the edge.
Do I need a colour printer?
No. The inside pages are in black and white and shades of grey, so a home printer is fine. Print the whole notebook or just the pages you need.
Is it a translation?
Yes. It is the English edition of “Le cahier du coach de football – U6-U7” by Zé, translated and adapted: same games, diagrams and timings, and the page on match formats describes the FA’s formats for under-7s. The PDF opens with the colour cover, then a licence page: use with your own teams, print as often as you need, no sharing of the file.
Can I print the sheets again?
Yes, for your own use: reprint session plans, match-day sheets and attendance pages as often as you need, for another team you coach or for next season. The file must not be shared or resold.
Are the games suitable for 5-year-olds?
Yes, the notebook is written for U6-U7s, children aged 5 and 6. Each page shows the recommended age: 35 games are for U6-U7s and 3 are better suited to U7s. Games last 6 to 15 minutes.
